Thanks to Bear and everyone involved in Kickoff.  I thought it was an overall success and you'll always have some hiccups with that many people attending.

Thanks to Bear & everyone involved in Kickoff.  My son & I had a blast even after hitting that pothole & riding the last 60-70 miles with a dented rim.

I know of two others with the same dent it was on the right side about 50 feet from a left turn & didn't have it to react with all of us slowing down but it's all good made it to Poor Richard's & home

Shitty!  That must be the same pothole that Frank Lee hit with his FZ-09.  I'd talk to the city and tell them they're lucky they don't have to pay medical bills from a motorcycle crash, just a few motorcycle wheel replacements. ;D
But I don't want greeting cards. I want to get fucked up on trampolines
Pretty much everything that DVS_DAN said is correct.

Just happy to not be taking the long dirt nap. I think i'll try bending back first. If it breaks i'll just get a new one. The yellow box is easy to spot in photos and it's always good for a laugh.

You guys talking about that square pot hole?!

I jumped back in the pack from the shoulder (sweeper) and just BARELY missed that sucker.

Lots of new riders this year leaving large gaps and not throwing hazard warnings.  Maybe next year we have a little newb meeting right before the big meeting so we can go over the basics for first-timers.

I was impressed though that with all the New Riders we had relatively few incidents.

I don't know...I observed at least one "veteran" creating huge gaps.

Im wondering if any sweepers picked up a nail riding on the shoulder

This was my 6th or 7th time sweeping a ride with 100+ bikes (4th ZG ride I think, although I'm pretty sure I've been on 6 of the last 8 kickoff rides), and I've never had any problems picking up debris on shoulders. I stay hyper-aware of any larger obstructions that I can see ahead of me but no problems with nails or anything like that.

I left a pretty decent gap if I am the "veteran" you are referring to.. lol

Reason being, we were getting the accordion effect going on with how close people were riding to each other. By leaving space, we were able to avoid that.

I did that a few times as well only when I could see where the group would start moving again.  Just relieving the accordion effect.  I didn't leave a big enough gap for a car to enter though.  Someone must have left a pretty fucking big gap for that muscle car to cut in half ways to Pepin on 35.

Don't you worry about the gap I left. I was on a freggin grom! :o

I had a blast on this ride even in the back of the pack. I was dicing past some of the newbies only to have the favor returned on the faster sections of road. I only lost the group on the sconnie side of the river between towns. I even took the opportunity to make it rain on a few of the sweepers with my camelbak. ;D

The food was good and reasonably priced, alhough I did have to wait about 10-15 minutes before the refilled the meat choices. And was disappointed about the stunt show that didn't happen.

Thanks to everyone that had a part in this. It was a great ride.
