RIP Barney Larson
« on: January 08, 2018, 08:14:53 PM »
  • Many here may not know Barney.
I know some of you are young. I'm one of those old guys.
Barney was a long time owner of Larson's Cycle in Cambridge MN.
He passed away this weekend at is home.
I started buying bikes from him as a teenager.
He was a good man. The whole family works at the shop. Just goes to show how good a family guy he was.
    I will miss him.
    RIP Barney.

Black flag me if you want, catch me if you can.
I bought it to ride. Not to look at.

  • I saw this on some dirt bike buddy's FB pages.  Was he big into racing back in the day too, dirt bikes?
But I don't want greeting cards. I want to get fucked up on trampolines
Pretty much everything that DVS_DAN said is correct.

  • Seeing how you asked. If I remember right his life in motorcycles was.
In the mid to late 70's he was a participating manger of Team USA ISDT.
He was the manager of Team Husqvarna USA in the 76 ISDT.
I remember his son Mike saying he had won over 200 trophies in his day. Which was flat-track, scrambles, 1/2 mile, short track, hill climbs, and endures.
He was one of the founding members of the Norsemen Motorcycle Club.
I remember seeing that he was a board member of District 23.
Mike said the whole family went to Sturgis 44 years straight.
So you could say this man is a true biker.
And one more thing. He was married to the same lady for more than 62 years.
    He was 81.

  •  I've probably purchased over a dozen bikes and atvs from Larson's over the decades.
The first being a brand new 1982 Yamaha 750 Virago.

Thanks for posting. I did not know.
    I got nuthin'
