Yes I always said FB would kill forums.
On the forums events and rides were planned. Yes some were only hours away. But most were a week in advance.  Everyone had time to see the post and plan to attend. Also they posted that they were attending. No so on FB.
FB post is. I'm going shopping anyone want to come along. Leaving now.

Dear dan,

I want to get more activity on rhe forum. What are your thoughts on how to do that?

Oh maaaaan, I missed this thread! Good find.

I still think Facebook killed all forums.  The biggest thing that made this essential was events and rides being posted here.  Second to that, is to have those people that used to do those often.  Rides were generally put on by a select 6 or so people, and the same with events.  I used to do a lot of parties, but now nobody knows anyone, so I'm not comfortable having strangers over.  These were the two big things that gathered a lot of people for fun times.

Since there's only one "maybe" for this it is cancelled now.

Looking like no rain tomorrow. I'll prob squeeze in a ride after lunch.

Need to be back to Newport by about 4-5pm.

2009 Suzuki GSX-R 1000: 36697 miles to start (although it is sold now so no results at the end of the season)
2014 Victory Cross Country Touring: 22432 miles to start

I used to avg about 10-15k miles per season between the bikes but after being away from MN for 3 years that took it's toll.

Now I hope to get at least 8-10k this season on the one bike.  Only time will tell!!  Thanks Dan for starting this thread!!
