  •  Lol. I knew it would get your panties in a bunch. Fish in a barrel.
How fast do you need to go on the trails?? Out of the corners that motor yanks. Period. LOVED IT!
All I know is I have had a blast putting nearly 2,000 miles on them. You can't take that away from me. Period.
Not one issue. No need to add oil. Did plenty of deep powder playing with the 144" XTX. Took corners like it was on rails.
    Wicked.
    I got nuthin'

  • Lets get this straight. Snowmobiling is fun. Not trying to take anything away from the first thing I ever learned how to ride this the first time Me and my dad seen one. What the hell is that dad. I don't know son but we are going to get one.
    But you want to compare.
Now if I take a sparkplug out of my 2 stroke then I will be going as slow as that wicked slow 4 stroke.
Now about those corners. Puts some carbides on that thing and a track with at least 1 1/4" or more lugs and you can cut a trench on the trail if of course you have some real horsepower.
On a side note. I sure hope that 4 stroke never breaks down. Because they are a real bitch to work on. Even to OMG change that never need to add oil sled. LMAO!

    2012 ZX10R ABS Ninja Kawasaki
    2005 Mach Z 1000
Black flag me if you want, catch me if you can.
I bought it to ride. Not to look at.

  •  Changed the oil already. Was not brain surgery. What else ya got?
And look back in this thread. I clearly asked if anyone had a 4 stroke. Said how much of a fan I am of the R1 based motor. Love the dependability, and longevity. I personally know several guys with over 15,000 miles on their 4 stroke sleds. There are mant with way over that. Sure they had to do maintenance on the usual wear and tear items. Big deal.
I don't think I was comparing them to 2 strokes. I don't have a problem with 2 strokes. You are the one that has a big problem with 4 strokes.

Now you keep insinuating that a 2 stroke is twice as fast as a 4 stroke. Lol. Okie dokie.
Funny, a bunch of us were "racing" (for fun) across Crane Lake out of Voyagair yesterday. I was "beating" many blue, yellow and red 2 stroke sleds. Now sure there were some sleds ahead of me, but not by a ratio of twice as far. Lol.
I had fun, they had fun, and no trophies were awarded.

This is awesome. Some actual activity on this forum! Woohoo!!!

  • So you were racing a what 1100cc 4 stroke against a 600cc 2 stroke and won. Sad in deed.
I don't have a problem with 4 strokes as long as it is on the street. Off road is a whole new story.

  •  Yup. Pretty said that I could only beat the 120cc sleds. Even though it wasn't a race.
But I enjoy my putt putt slow pig of a sled.

    In other news I think I'll sell my YZ250 for a YZ250F.

I would.  Smooth power delivery over all the rough shit in the trails. I hated the spaztic reaction my 250 2-stroke had.

But I don't want greeting cards. I want to get fucked up on trampolines
Pretty much everything that DVS_DAN said is correct.

Yes that should perform like a YZ80.

My KTM200 has smoother power than any 4 stroke. It has a carb, reeds, and a power valve.  Did your Yamaha have that Dan?

With the announcement of the new YZ65, maybe I'll have a chance at beating one of those.
Yeah...YZ250Fs are such slow turds. Lol.

I doubt it. 4 strokes will lug their way out of the slow stuff and power through. 2 strokes need to be in the powerband, and then they unleash the power all at once, like an 18 year old nerd at a strip club touching bewbs for the first time during a birthday lap dance.

When was the last time you road a 2 stroke. Your talking 3 decades ago. Anyone I let ride my KTM sells their 4 stroke.
And if you put horse power in a 4 stroke. It has that 2,000 rpm power ban you were just talking about.

I owned a 2 stroke YZ250 for a long time.  The particular bike you're talking about is very good, but the typical Jap four dirt bikes are a different animal.  I've heard great things about KTM's 300

  • So I’m up North riding we friends. 4 are 2 strokes and 2 are 4 strokes. Last tank of gas I got 18.75 mpg. Unreal and better than the Yamaha’s.
